This is how we determine the value of your vehicle. We first look at the year, make and model. Then we look at its overall condition. Depending on that information we decide if it’s worth selling the parts or just stripping it of its precious metals and crushing it for its steel value. If it’s a late model and fairly clean it usually brings a higher amount which in turn gives you the most cash in hand.
If we determined it to be less reusable we then base the price off the overall weight of the vehicle. Depending on the weight of the vehicle we price it accordingly. Larger vehicles will bring higher amounts. The steel price is most always determined by the stock market. We follow the stock market daily to ensure you are getting top dollar for your vehicle, the market is always changing. The price of copper, aluminum and other precious metals also trend with the market.
These all play a part in your vehicles overall value. Through my many years in the field, I’ve watched the steel prices go from as low as $3 to as high as $12 per 100 pounds and vice a versa. It’s continually changing and it’s our job to follow it for you. We will always pay you the absolute top dollar. As in doing business in any situation we always recommend getting a couple of estimates.
We want you to get the best deal possible. Just keep in mind that it’s always better to use a licensed, bonded and insured company to limit your liability. We’ve all heard the saying, “it sounds too good to be true” so be careful when dealing with any unlicensed, unbounded, and uninsured companies.
